Why do we always say "yin yang" instead of “yang yin”?

Why do we always say "yin yang" instead of “yang yin”? Why does “yin” come first before the yang? This is because a seed is always in the shade before it sprouts inside the earth which is dark (yin), and only after it sprouts can it come out to get the sun (yang). Whenever animals get pregnant, its womb is in a dark place, and after the build is fully developed it will then come out to see the sun. All life, at the beginning of gestation, is in the shade which is in the dark (yin) place, and growth requires Yang. Therefore, the word " Yu" for childbirth has the word "moon", and the childbirth must be in the dark, that is, when the moon comes out. Therefore, the word yin came first, and then yang. The beginning of the earth is chaotic, the beginning of chaos is Yin, and the opening of heaven/sky and earth is Yang. Yin is weak and small, and yang is strong. Things grow from small to big, from weak to strong. Therefore, first yin and then yang. The child is weak but slowly grows and transforms into yang.

The first hexagram of the Book of Changes is the Qian hexagram and it represents father and the sky. The father is just like the sky. He is constantly striving to improve himself. The earth has a sky because the earth's gravity is strong enough. The moon has no sky. If not because of the sky, Human beings would not exist on earth and if without father, there will be no us.

The animal representing Qian Gua (Father/Sky) is a horse because the horse is vigorous, and the attribute of Qian Gua is vigorous. The animals representing Kun Gua (mother/land) are cows and mares because they are very tolerant and obedient. Therefore, we say that both parents work as cow and horse for their children.

Qian Gua tells us that we are "continuously striving for self-improvement". As long as you have the opportunity, you must seize it. As long as you have energy, you only have to play. But when the environment doesn't allow it, when you feel powerless, then you have to be virtuous and submissive like the Kun Gua, so why do we always say two contradictory words? Constantly striving for self-improvement, and being submissive, together is called being able to bend and stretch. Bending is yin, stretching is yang.

The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the four traditional Chinese festivals; the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar is the most "centered" position in the whole year, which is like the line of the fifth line of the "Book of Changes·Qian Gua": "Flying Dragon is in the Sky".

The original meaning of the word "Duan" in "Dragon Boat Festival" is "zheng", so we say "Duan zheng" i.e. right at the middle; and the number five is in the middle of one to ten, noon is also the middle of the day; 12 noon is middle of the day.

May is summer and the month when the fire is strong; noon is when the sun is above our head. People use fire to cook and sterilize food, and fire can get rid of all evil. Remind people to be righteous and not evil, to learn from Qu Yuan's heart of righteousness. The Book of Changes emphasizes centering and keeping upright.

Sun Yat-sen’s name is Sun Wen, and Sun Yat-sen’s name has "Zhong". Chiang Kai-shek later changed his name to Jiang Zhongzheng. So if you go to Taiwan, there is a "Chiang Cheng Memorial Hall" that represents Zhongzheng. Influenced by the Book of Changes.

The Book of Changes has its logic. It is not just arbitrarily deciding something. For example, our hands. This action represents stopping. Gen Gua represents hands and mountains. Because people in the past walked to the mountains and couldn’t walked through the mountains, they had to stop. So it also represents our hands. Because of our natural reaction, when we ask others to stop, we just raise our hands. Gen Gua is also a little brother and Zhen Gua is a big brother, it means vibration that is vibration and movement which Zhen Gua also represents thunder. To run, which part of your body should move first? You have to run with your legs, the legs are always bigger than your hands, so the hands are the younger brother and the legs are the older brother. This is its logic. You can see a lot of the logic of I Ching when you study in more detailed into it. Thank you!
