人生从“潜龙勿用”开始,要懂得沉淀与学习;

有高度,却选择低调;

Many people think the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching are difficult.

But if you truly understand just three — Qian, Kun, and Humility —

you can avoid many unnecessary struggles in life.

First, Qian (Heaven) — it teaches relentless self-improvement.

You begin as a “hidden dragon,” learning and growing.

Then you rise to “flying dragon in the sky,” achieving success.

But the most important line is this:

“The overreaching dragon brings regret.”

Many people don’t fail at the beginning —

they fail at the peak, when they don’t know how to step back.

Second, Kun (Earth) — its essence is capacity and support.

It is not weakness, but strength through grounding and nurturing.

Even Tsinghua University adopts self-discipline and social commitment (厚德载物) as part of its motto.

It reminds us that not everyone needs to be number one.

Those who know how to support and align often go further.

Third, and most powerful — Humility.

It is the only hexagram where all lines are auspicious.

Its image is: a mountain beneath the earth.

A mountain is naturally great,

yet here it is hidden below the ground — unseen, unshown.

That is true humility:

being great, yet not showing greatness;

being strong, yet not showing off.

The truly powerful

have height, but choose to stay grounded;

have ability, but remain restrained.

So life moves through three stages:

Strive like Qian, carry like Kun, and return to Humility.

Most people don’t fail because they are weak —

they fail because they don’t understand timing, balance, and humility.
