Feng Shui of the kitchen

1.      The Feng Shui of the kitchen is particularly important. Kitchen is a vital place for the lady master and the stove represents the lady master thus it affects her luck the most. Therefore, the cleanliness of the stove is a must. Otherwise, it will create negative impact to the health of the family members, particularly the lady master.

2.      The South-West is the sector for the lady master; hence it is auspicious to have your kitchen located in the South-West of your house.

3.      The door of the kitchen and the door of the washroom should not be facing each other as the kitchen is a fire element and the washroom is a water element. When the fire is fighting against the water, the health and luck of the family members will not be pleasant. If the washroom is facing the kitchen, please place a divider in between. In the olden days, the washroom and kitchen were built separately outside the house, just like the old type of houses in China 四合院. The worst case is to have your stove facing the toilet!

4.      As the stove represents the lady master, there should not be two stoves in the kitchen. Otherwise, there will be two lady masters!

5.      Never place a mirror reflecting the stove as the mirrored image of the stove shows that there will be another lady master!

6.      The stove should not face the water tap nor should they be placed next to each other since fire is against water. If that is the case, block them with a divider or put a money plant in between. By doing this, water from the tap grows the money plant and subsequently the plant grows fire of the stove.

Feng Shui Review of the One Residence, Sungai Ara, Penang

It has been some times that I have not shared my findings about any new property project in Penang.

I have just gone to the new property project, the One Residence, Sungai Ara Penang for feng shui audit and would like to share my review about the feng shui there.

Good Point:-

It is hard to find an air well in any new property project but we could find it in One Residence. I said in my book HOW TO ENHANCE YOUR LIFE WITH GOOD FENG SHUI? page 112 that:-

Air well is called 天井 heaven well and you could find it in the old type of Chinese houses 四合院where the sun could shine into the house and the rain could come into the house. Water is money.

Having the sun shining through the air well will increase the positive energy or ‘yang qi’ to the house, especially if your house is not bright enough. Thus, if you buy a house and there is an air well whereby the sun can shine into the house, please try not to close up the air well.

Even though the water cannot come into the houses of One Residence but the Sunlight increase the yang energy. I have said many times that feng shui is about how you balance out the yin and yang energy. Thus, this is a fantastic design.

Bad Point:-

1. A lot of people thought that those houses face the North West and South East that completed in period 8 (2004-2023) will have auspicious feng shui. As a matter of fact, not all North West and South East are good. I said in my book HOW TO ENHANCE YOUR LIFE WITH GOOD FENG SHUI? page 28 that:-

If you are looking for a house, the direction of the main door is important. Please refer to the list below to find good main door directions.

However, some of the units of the One Residence, the main door direction face :-

辰 SE1 and 戌 NW1 which is 损财伤丁 inauspicious for wealth and people. Hence you should alter the direction of the main door to:-

NW3 亥322.5 - 337.5
NW2 乾307.5 - 322.5
SE2 巽127.5 - 142.5

I would like to recommend you to change it to one of the 易经64卦:-

雷地豫卦 333/336 degree

地天泰卦 135.5/138 degree

地山谦卦 311.5/313 degree

天地否卦 315.5/318 degree

2. Like many other projects, the toilet of the master bedroom is right on top of the main door.

How can I be more clever?

For those who have attended my feng shui seminars recently, I have informed you all of one of the methods to enhance your intelligence. It is particularly important for those students, R&D engineers, programmers, designers and etc. As a matter of fact, there are many methods to determine the 文昌位 place of intelligence:-

1. Most accurate method and it does not change is according to the bazi of a person. Thus, no matter where the person goes to, it can be applied.

2. Look for the star no 4 (根据坐山方而非向水方因为坐方为丁而向方为财) of the house according to the direction of the house.

3. Look for the annual flying star no 4, but it always changes annually and hard to apply as you cannot change your place of study every year, right? This year, it is at the East sector.

I am one of the Malaysians who really feel sad when Dato Lee Chong Wei lost to Lin Dan in the recent BWF Badminton Championships. However, as a "Penang lang", we are certainly proud of him because he is also from Penang. Many people are in fact like me who could not accept the fact he lost eventually, even though there were several occasions, he actually leading and in a very favorable position. As a matter of fact, I did say my view why Dato Lee always does not have the luck during the top world tournaments but I was criticised for saying it as one of the readers said that we should not discourage our hero from moving forward. The "three killing 三煞’will appear at the West. It will make the journey to recovery of the United States and Europe harder and it may not be smooth either. Hence, don't be too optimistic about the economy of the world in 2011. The United States and Europe are located at the West of the world.

Apart from telling us the 2011 is the year for the ladies, it also tells us 2011 is not a easy year for those lady leaders. It is because the flying star at the centre of the annual flying star 2011 is 7 which is apart from being the star for lady, it is also a star of argument too....

2011 is a year for ladies. If you refer to the annual flying star chart for 2011, the star no 7 is at the middle of the chart, hence it is the star that in control. According to the I-Ching Later Heaven Baqua, the 7 is in the West which is the 兑卦 Dui Qua, is a qua for lady. Thus, the lady is in the centre of the chart in 2011 to control.

Also I said in my blog http://penangfengshui.blogspot.com/2011/04/update.html that Tesco Tanjung Pinang is a good place to set up restaurants and it has been proven. One of the restaurants is my client who follow my advices and the owner told me that the business is too good that they are having problem to hire enough waiters to serve the customers!

"Every 20 years, there will be a change of period (yun 运). From 1984 – 2003 is period 7 and the number star 7, 8 and 9 are good, especially the number 7. 2004 – 2023 is period 8 and the number star 8, 9 and 1 are good, especially the number 8. Later Heaven Bagua or ‘hou tian ba gua’ / ‘yuan dan pan’ 后天八卦 / 元旦盘 can tell us a lot of things. No matter how you add up the numbers on the chart, either vertically, horizontally or diagonally, the numbers will add up to a sum of 15. (please refer to Later Heaven Chart above) During period 7, i.e. from 1984 to 2003, the most powerful countries are at the west. The western world controlled the world. However, we are in period 8 now, hence the most influential part of the world is at the northeast of the earth which is Beijing, China. ",

The next one to come into power after the star number 8 will be the star no 9. If the star no 8 is the King now, the star no 9 is the Prince waiting for his throne. You will notice that star no 9 is at the South and I did mention many times during my feng shui seminars that with the completion of the Second Penang Bridge which will link the main land to the South of Penang Island, the South of Penang Island is the next up and coming area to be watched up. Also, you will notice that the country that has a lot of resources is the next very influential country and I think the most likely country is Australia as Australia is at the South of the world. Accordingly to I-Ching, Later Heaven Bagua, Australia is a country where we should put an eye on them because the country that has the most resources is the country that will control the world as the resources in this world is slowly depleting. I notice that a lot of my clients are migrating to Australia!

The houses in the Southbay Project are mainly facing either the North or the South. If your bazi require fire element, it will be marvelous if you choose to stay in a house facing the South (fire element) at the Southbay (fire element) at the South (fire element) of the Penang Island. It will be even better if you work in an electronic firm such as Intel, Dell, Motorola.......(fire element)

The Feng Shui of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

I went to Kota Kinabalu and I have managed to confirm my previous prediction again i.e. period 8 (year 2004 – 2023) is a better period for Sabah.
Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Sabah state. The city is located on the northwest coast of Borneo facing the South China Sea. Whereas, the Mount Kinabalu which is the tallest mountain in the island of Borneo which is also the tallest mountain 太祖山 in the Southeast Asia is located at the North East of the Kota Kinabalu. In period 8 (year 2004 – 2023), the star 8 is located at the North East in the later heaven bagua and hence this is the place where the mountain should locate 坐山. The Mount Kinabalu is located at the North East of the Kota Kinabalu, therefore period 8 is better time for Kota Kinabalu particularly and Sabah generally.
On top of that, at the West of the Kota Kinabalu is the South China Sea. In period 7 (year 1984 - 2003), the star 7 is located at the West in the later heaven bagua and this is the place where the mountain should locate 坐山 but vice verse there is the South China Sea instead. Hence, there have not been too many developments in Sabah in period 7; but instead the political situation in Sabah was always in turbulence.
I said previously in my blog http://penangfengshui.blogspot.com/2008/12/i-was-quite-busy-recently-in-publishing.htmlthat why all the previous Penang Chief Ministers did not have good ending to their political careers as CM. The answer is the 'Komtar'.
We seldom find many offices of the head of the state are located high in sky. The office of the Chief Minister of Penang is located at the 28th floor of Komtar. As a matter of fact, human being should have a very close relationship with our mother Earth. We should touch the ground daily. We are born on the Earth since thousands years ago and nobody can go against this. Therefore, we should love and respect our mother nature, instead of going against Her. We have to know who the BOSS is. Today, the whole world knows that it is vital for us to love the Earth and we will have to pay extremely high price if you damage the Earth. It is particularly important if you are the Chief Minister of a state who rules the piece of land. His office of course has to close to the ground and not high up in the sky.
Thus, why did every previous Chief Minister in Penang lose their power in the election, and had never been able to easily or comfortably retire from their position? The Penang Chief Minister should seriously think about this question if he wishes to have good ending in his political career. The same theory is applied to the Sabah Chief Minister as I was told that his office is located at the tallest floor in the Sabah Government Building and it is part of the reasons why the political situation in Sabah was always in the turbulence stage in period 7 and many ex-Chief Ministers of Sabah have not be able to stay in power for too long.

Qi, Feng Shui, Komtar, Petronas Twin Towers and Burj Khalifa Dubai.

Bear in mind that in feng shui, we wish to achieve a balance of flow of energy which is defined as qi. We do not wish to obtain qi that is too vigorous or rapid which is considered as too ‘yang’ in feng shui. It is like if you get a strong shine of hot Sunlight directly to your house daily, that will create inauspicious qi. Vice versa, we also cannot obtain qi which is too ‘yin’ either. Thus, it is inauspicious if you stay in a bedroom which there is no Sunlight can shine into the room at all, the qi there will be too ‘yin’. That is the reason why I always advise my clients to hold a house warming gathering to boost the qi when moving into a new house, especially when the house has left vacant for sometimes as the house will become more yin if it has been left empty for ages.

As a matter of fact, during the time of celebration of Chinese New Year, the fabulous way to boost our qi is to attend the celebration events as there are huge crowd of people there. There were tremendous amount of people and huge crowd there in many events in Penang.

Komtar, the tallest building in Penang

If you are a follower of my blog, I always against the idea of building the tallest building. I quoted what I have mentioned in my book “How To Enhance Your Wealth With Feng Shui?” As we should understand by now that it is a very important theory in feng shui that Green Dragon, White Tiger, Red Phoenix and Black Turtle 左青龙 右白虎 前朱雀 后玄武. Sadly, I do not see any of these at Komtar. Comparatively, Komtar is the only tall building among other buildings surrounding it; hence it does not have the support or noblemen to assist it. Moreover, as the tallest building in the town, Komtar is too ‘yang’ or it has too much positive energy because when the Sun rises; it will shine on the Komtar first. Komtar is the first building to get the Sun light.

If you do a research, it is not hard for you know the impact of building the tallest skyscrapers:-

1. When the then world's tallest building, the Empire State Building, New York was completed in 1931, the United States fell into a great economic depression.

2. Chicago built the Sears Tower in 1974 and in the same year, the United States faced an economic recession.

3. When the Petronas Twin Towers were completed, Malaysia did not turn prosperous because of it. Instead, it fell into a slump. Today, Malaysia’s petroleum reserve is depleting.

4. When Taiwan built Taipei 101 in 2003, its economy suffered a severe blow from the global financial tsunami. Until today, it is not yet recovered.

5. Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building in Dubai and many people know that Dubai is currently facing a debt crisis.

Lets Go Back to the Basic of Feng Shui

Lets go back to the basic of feng shui by first understand what is feng and what is shui. In Chinese, it basically means wind and water. Thus, by having good wind and good water then the place has good feng shui.

We will not go wrong if we go back to the basic. It is similar to "If you do not understand a complicated mechanical engineering theory, then go back to the Newton Law i.e. the basic."
Good wind means that you have good air. If your place has good air, then the qi or the magnetic energy is auspicious. It also means that with a balanced energy i.e. neither too yang nor too yin a place, then the place has better feng. In another word, it means if the place is neither too bright nor too dark, or neither has too much of positive energy with too much of Sun light nor has too much of negative energy whereby there is no light at all in a place, then the feng is good. In short, it basically means ‘balancing of qi’. Who will like to stay at a place where the air is dirty and smelly? Hence, I always said in my seminars that if you want to have better feng shui in your house, just go back and clean out your house and your house will automatically have better feng shui than before. This is because dust is 2 black and it is bad in term of feng shui.
Shui or water is equally crucial in the subject of feng shui. Shui creates wealth. Look around the world and you will notice, all the important cities are build beside the water. Hong Kong, New York, Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok and London and many more are next to BIG and CLEAR water.
In terms of development, Penang, the Pearl of the Oriental is still lacking behind compare to Singapore and Hong Kong. The sea surrounding the island is dirty due to pollution for the past years. Also, the sea level is more shallow compare to both the countries. Water is wealth. Thus, if the sea is not clear and clean, the luck of wealth will be relatively lower.
Feng Shui is the Chinese art of arranging buildings, objects, and space in the environment in order to achieve energy, harmony, and balance. The English translation of Feng shui is "the way of Wind (feng) and Water (shui)" or "the natural forces of the universe." Feng shui, derived from the Chinese concept of Yin and Yang, has been practiced for thousands of years.

Forbidden City, Beijing.

I extracted a portion of an article in my earlier book, "How to Enhance your Wealth with Feng Shui?" about the 玉带环抱‘yu dai huan bao’ as below. Today, with the help of Google Earth, you could see that the application of the concept in the Forbidden City of Beijing whereby the Palace is located inside the bow and not facing the bow. The bow is the man-made river located at the entrance of the Palace as per the picture above which look like a bow. The Emperor was actually sitting at the exact North to look at His piece of land at the South as Beijing is located at the North of China.

玉带环抱 ‘yu dai huan bao’ is like someone is hugging and protecting you. Jade belt was a belt worn by ranking officials in the old China. Hence, if you have a house located at the auspicious sector then your relationship with family members and people around you will be remarkable and your luck in terms of wealth will be excellent. However, if your house is located at the opposite side, then it is defined as 反弓水 bend bow water, which is an inauspicious location, then your luck in terms of wealth and relationship with others will not be prosperous.

You will notice the application of the bow concept in the Forbidden City of Beijing, China whereby a men-made river is build like the shape of 弓 bow is designed at the entrance of the palace which is a design to protect the palace against any undesired qi. The palace is located inside the bow, so it is protected by the bow.
